Dear NMKR community,

In this edition, we are glad to introduce you to Justin Cruz, the creator of Old Money. Using NMKR Studio's API, Old Money has created an impressive voting system. What started as a Twitter meme account has turned into an actual business with a growing community and ambitious plans for the future. Let's take a look at what Justin has to say about his project and the blockchain/NFT industry in general.

NMKR: What inspired you to start developing Oldmoney.io? Please tell us what makes it so special.

Justin: There is a moment that almost everyone has when they discover crypto and dive deeper into what’s happening to our fiat currency. The US dollar and the tale of inflation and debasement that’s occurred over our lifetimes and beyond is the perfect canvas. We coupled this extremely relatable topic/ah-ha moment with a multitude of complex themes, storytelling, community engagement, social commentary, and special narratives to cultivate one of the strongest communities that exist today.

NMKR: What are the major challenges you're facing right now? We would like to know about your team's plans to overcome them.

Justin: Growing the team while keeping the momentum up has proven to be challenging and continues to escalate in difficulty as time goes on. We pride ourselves on keeping up the pace for a year now but there are only 2 people on the founding team and only so many hours in the day. We have our Cabinet which is our select group of trusted Mfers that have been really contributing to our success lately. Ideally, over time, we increase the number of people who think about and work on Old Money 24/7. We have a big enough community of like-minded people who are talented in many facets of art, technology, and business. Old Money believes that if we’re going to pay anyone to build then it should be our holders first. It’s proven to be a great model for both sides.

NMKR: What are you doing to get people to use or invest in your project? Please share some thoughts about your growth strategy.

Justin: This is a complex question but if I had to provide a general tip to keep in mind when you want to grow your audience, it’s that you need to consistently create value and demonstrate execution. If you’re doing that and your niche of target customers actually exists then you should be able to attract a number of new eyes to your NFT business. If you aren’t then check yourself in those two areas. Am I providing something that’s actually valuable to others? Am I consistently proving that I can execute what I have spoken on?

NMKR: What do you think about NMKR? Tell us what we can do for you in the long run so we both win!

Justin: To me, NMKR is a complete game changer for Web 2 developers to enter the Cardano NFT space. Its robust API, administrative dashboard, support team, and continual updates allow you to have complete creative freedom to dream up something and have confidence that you can execute with the tools provided. Their founding team has a proven track record and I can’t wait to see where NMKR is in a year from now.

NMKR: What's your vision for the future of blockchain/decentralized technologies like Cardano? Please tell us what you're doing to make that future a reality.

Justin: The future is bright but there is a lot of work to do. NFTs have applications across many different interests and business models. Using the same technology for Old Money, we can push the boundaries of what exists in the Cardano NFT space so much so that we set a new standard of what it takes to be successful in this ecosystem. Secondly, there are many untapped domains such as music and sports where if someone can show how a model can be successful with NFTs as the primary revenue driver then it unlocks the potential for others.

NMKR: Thank you so much for your time, Justin. It's great to hear from people like you who are passionate about their projects, and vision. We're looking forward to seeing more progress of your project in the future. It's been a pleasure to have you on NMKR talks!
