Dear NMKR community,
In this interview, we bring you Ashish Prajapati, the founder of Cardanoscan & Typhon Wallet. Ashish joined NMKR in talks about Typhon Wallet, a non-custodial wallet for ADA and Cardano Native Assets. He also founded Cardanoscan, a blockchain explorer and analytics platform for Cardano. They have made a lot of progress in introducing new features and functionalities for these products. Let's dive right in and find out what he had to say!
NMKR: What inspired you to start developing Typhon Wallet and Cardanoscan?
Ashish: We started exploring the Cardano blockchain in late 2017. The technical foundation on which Cardano was being built inspired us to join the ecosystem.
We observed a need for a good and user friendly explorer for Cardano, which inspired us to build a powerful and feature rich explorer. We started building the site in late 2019, the journey to building cardanoscan explorer was quite an adventure that required us to understand the Cardano ledger specifications end to end, we spent days and nights learning and understanding the specs and designing the architecture we wanted to make it scalable and efficient. Cardanoscan was then launched in 2020 along with the release of the Shelley hard fork on Cardano.
The Cardano community was growing exponentially after the Shelley hard fork and we soon realized a need for a wallet application that is user friendly and provides many Cardano features with a good user experience. Our focus for building Typhon Wallet has always been providing as many features of Cardano as possible.
For a new user exploring any cryptocurrency, the wallet is the gateway for them to the network. What users see inside a wallet is what is perceived to be the network itself. We want to provide a good user experience to users coming to Cardano and give that first impression about what Cardano blockchain is capable of. We introduced many first-hand features like sending multiple tokens with a single tx, sending ADA/tokens to many addresses at once in a single tx, and providing instant transactions on Cardano. We will continue to build many such features inside Typhon Wallet.
NMKR: What are the major challenges you're facing right now? We would like to know about your team's plans to overcome them.
Ashish: Our work is for the community, if we as a project have to grow, the Cardano community needs to grow. We are doing everything in our capacity to make the user experience for users on Cardano better by improving the explorer and the wallet experience. These are not enough! The whole community of builders are also working towards this goal, and we are as well working towards working with many projects and helping them build on Cardano, as to grow this whole ecosystem together.
NMKR: What are you doing to get people to use or invest in your projects?
Ashish: We make minimal marketing efforts, we are fully focused on building and improving the explorer and the wallet application.
NMKR: What do you think about NMKR? Tell us what we can do for you in the long run so we both win!
Ashish: The suite of projects NMKR is working on is great, we believe it aligns with our goals of improving the Cardano ecosystem user experience, we are already collaborating with technical information exchanges with the NMKR team and we will continue to do so.
NMKR: What's your vision for the future of blockchain/decentralized technologies like Cardano? Please tell us what you're doing to make that future a reality.
Ashish: Along with the two projects we discussed above, we are also working on a project for the mass adoption of the blockchain and cryptocurrency. It is Flac Finance (https://flac.finance). We believe that for the mass adoption of crypto, we need to include the average user and make it easier for them to use this new technology with ease. We are building Flac Finance for the same cause and with ambitious goals of improving the payments using blockchain and cryptocurrency.
NMKR: If our readers would like to contact you, how can they get in touch with you and stay informed on the latest developments?
Ashish: We are active on Twitter, @FlacFinance @cardanoscanio @typhonwallet @StricaHQ
