Art Suite 2.0

Dear NMKR community,

Alfred is one of the owners of Hotel Ginebra in Barcelona where he created the very first business in the world to accept ADA for payment. He shares his story with us on what his brand new project The Art Suite 2.0 is all about and what it aims to achieve. Let's take a look!

NMKR: What inspired you to start developing the Art Suite 2.0? Please tell us what makes it so special.

Alfred: When we learned how traditional artists often struggle to make a living and the realization that NFTs can make a real difference in their lives by creating a new revenue stream for themselves and putting forward a digital version of the same world of art they had already produced, we were inspired the create the Art Suite 2.0. At the same time we had run a project in Bangladesh with Hotel Ginebra in Barcelona called Thought For Food and it occurred to us that we might be able to also help that same and other social impact projects with the sale of NFTs. In fact The Art Suite is not an NFT marketplace. We would probably describe ourselves as an artist launch platform as well as a social impact engine. Lastly, we want the platform to be a vehicle to promote Cardano in the world and in order to do so we created an Artist Agent program which allows anyone interested and with the right motivation to introduce new artists all over the world to Cardano and facilitate joining The Art Suite.

NMKR: What are the major challenges you're facing right now? We would like to know about your team's plans to overcome them.

Alfred: We have overcome the largest hurdle, which was to actually create a system that works! A system that was built from the ground up, based on an innovative concept, with only our own time and resources.

What remains as the main challenge is developing and broadening our buyer base. The fact of the matter is that we probably are the first NFT platform on Cardano that targets a global public interested in NFTs of let's say traditional art and fine art in the way we do. Also simply because NFTs have only existed for just over a year on Cardano and the art ecosystem is still in the process of maturing.

So …marketing is key. We have been submitting Catalyst funding proposals. Alternatively, we will look at other ways of funding.

Another aspect will determine the success of the platform, which is interoperability with other blockchains, cryptocurrencies and also fiat payments. We know NMKR is in the process of developing solutions that we are eagerly looking forward to..

Lastly…synergies and partnerships. We have several potential partners on the sidelines waiting for us to launch 2.0.

NMKR: What are you doing to get people to use or invest in your project? Please share some thoughts about your growth strategy.

Alfred: You are interviewing us to celebrate the launch of The Art Suite 2.0, the first fully automated version of the platform. Since building this type of platform is anything but easy, we did not want to knock on too many doors until we were 100% sure we had a working system. Apart from submitting Catalyst funding proposals, we are currently also in talks with a select number of people with very specific experience in the world of startups and funding to join the project.

NMKR: What do you think about NMKR? Tell us what we can do for you in the long run so we both win!

Alfred: It is no false flattery to say that we are full of admiration for the NMKR project. To get any new business off the ground takes tons of time, energy, passion and dedication and to do so in a software environment like Cardano that was itself and even up to this day is still under constant development makes that task all the harder. In the specific case of The Art Suite partnering with NMKR gives us peace of mind. We know that we do not have to worry about perhaps the essential part of technology that our platform runs on which is the actual minting of the NFTs.

The beautiful thing about this type of relationship is that it is a complete win-win, because both parties make their revenue with the sale of the same product. As The Art Suite has very specific programs that can and will promote The Art Suite literally all over the globe, we hope that NMKR will be interested in sharing the power of their social networks for us to rapidly expand our business in all directions.

NMKR: What's your vision for the future of blockchain/decentralized technologies like Cardano? Please tell us what you're doing to make that future a reality.

Alfred: There are unlimited applications that one can think of for decentralized technologies. We are convinced that when we look back at where we are now in 20 to 30 years, we will critically analyze what is now the standard centralized way of doing business and even organizing society, and wonder how on earth people were putting up with it. We are very happy that with The Art Suite we are also carrying the message of decentralization and the philosophy of Cardano, which is to give people the tools to create a better life for themselves. Art is everywhere, it is all around us. We hope and feel that what we will achieve with The Art Suite as a company will positively impact the lives of millions around the world.

That is the mission, and we intend to accomplish it.
